The fifth round of the 2016 British GT Championship season was held in Belgium at the Formula 1 venue, the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. Nick Smith went to cover the championship.
It was his first, and so far only, visit to Spa, a bucket list destination for most motorsport fans, which is reflected in the angles captured. Constrained access at what is for Spa, a club event rather than a flagship calendar date, meant that not all of the iconic locations were available. Additionally, Nick was unprepared for the sheer topography of the venue.
Wherever you are at Spa, where you want to be is up hill!
The British GT entry for the event was bolstered by several single round entries in GT3 preparing for the Total 24 Hours of Spa and also by the inclusion of the GT4 European Series who shared the grid as a round of their championship.
